On Thursday, May 28th, 2026, at 5:00pm or as close thereafter as possible, a public hearing has been scheduled for a tent camping permit application for 111 Lake Street during the Planning and Zoning regular meeting.
Outpost Outdoor Hospitality, LLC has applied for a tent camping permit to operate a tent only campground on Block 69 at 111 Lake Street in Lake City which is in the Tourist 1 zone.

CONCERNING ADOPTION OF THE COLORADO WILDFIRE RESILIENCY CODE
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the Town of Lake City, Colorado, will hold a public hearing to receive public comment concerning the proposed adoption of the Colorado Wildfire Resilienc Code.
The public hearing will take place on: Date: Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Time: 7:00 p.m., or as close thereafter as possible
Location: Armory Multi-Purpose Room
Address: 230 N. Bluff Street, Lake City, Colorado 81235
The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments regarding the proposed adoption of the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code, which establishes minimum standard intended to reduce wildfire risk to life and property through structure hardening, defensible space, and related wildfire resiliency measures in areas identified as being within the wildland-urban interface. The Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code was promulgated by the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code Board, within the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, Colorado Department of Public Safety. Senate Bill 23-166 established the Wildfire Resiliency Code Board for the purpose of adopting statewide codes and standards related to hardening structures and reducing fire risk in defensible space in the wildland-urban interface. The applicable state rule is codified at 8 CCR 1507-39, titled “The Adoption of Minimum Codes and Standards for Hardening Structures and Reducing Fire Risk in the Defensible Space Surrounding Structures in the Wildland-Urban Interface.” The rule was adopted on July 1, 2025, and became effective on August 30, 2025.
Copies of the proposed adopting ordinance, the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code, and any proposed
local amendments or associated materials are on file with the Town Clerk and are available for public
inspection during regular business hours at Lake City Town Hall, 230 N. Bluff Street, Lake City, Colorado
81235. Copies may also be made available through the Town’s website or by contacting the Town Clerk at
(970) 944-2333.
All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and provide comments. Written comments
may be submitted before the hearing to the Town Clerk at:

2026 Community Junk Cleanup Weekends
Saturday June 13th, Sunday June 14th, Saturday August 29th, Sunday August 30th
In the spirit of community collaboration, the Town of Lake City is organizing two Community Junk Cleanup weekends this summer to assist the Town of Lake City residential property owners dispose of metal junk, free of charge.
Location: Empty Town-Owned Lots North of the Medical Center on Henson Street.
Accepted Items:
· Appliances: refrigerators/freezers (Freon must be removed), ovens, washers, dryers, grills, hot water heaters etc.
· Scrap Metal (Copper, Aluminum, Brass, Steel, Stainless Steel)
· Vehicle Batteries
· Electronic Waste: Microwaves, CD/DVD players, PC’s, Printers, etc. – No Monitors or Televisions
· Snow Mobiles, ATV’s, OHV’s, dirt bikes, motorcycles etc.
· Motors, axels, engines, rotors, brakes, metal vehicle parts, etc.
· Lawn mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, etc.
· Metal T-Posts, metal fencing, metal roofing, metal posts
· Metal siding, corrugated metal and construction materials
· Metal chairs. metal shelving, metal scaffolding, metal furniture etc.
· Electrical wires, coaxal cables
